How to build a pre-game hype playlist on Apple Music

Built for Apple Music

Hype is a finite resource. Peak too early and you're already coming down by the time you walk out. The right pre-game playlist ramps slowly, holds the peak, and lands you at full intensity right before kick-off.

1. Match the length to your warm-up

Most pre-game windows are 30–60 minutes. 45 minutes is the sweet spot — long enough to lock in, short enough not to burn out.

2. Sequence the build

  1. First third: mid-energy, focused. Getting changed, taping up, getting in your head.
  2. Middle third: harder, faster, the heart-rate creeps up.
  3. Final third: peak hype. The walk-out songs. Loud, anthemic, unmissable.

3. End on a personal anthem

The last song should be yours — the one that flips the switch every time. My Flowlist pulls from your Apple Music library so that song is already in the rotation, not some algorithm pick.

4. Or let My Flowlist do it in one tap

Use the Pre-Game Hype template. We pull from your library, sequence the build, and save the result back as a real Apple Music playlist — 45 minutes, peak at the right moment.
