Why I built My Flowlist
Built for Apple Music
I kept asking the same question: “How do I make a playlist on Apple Music that actually sounds good from start to finish?”
Apple Music makes the first part easy. Pick a name, add songs, hit done. But the second part — the order — is entirely up to you. And that’s where most playlists fall apart.
I’d end up with 40 great songs that I skipped every third track because the energy jumped around. One moment you’re deep in a run, the next a slow ballad drops the pace. Or you’re trying to focus and a track with too much bounce throws you off.
The realisation: a playlist is a sequence, not a folder
A good playlist isn’t just a collection of songs you like. It’s a sequence. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It eases you in, builds to the right peak, and then cools you down.
DJs call it an energy curve. Fitness coaches call it periodisation. Apple Music calls it “Up Next” — but it still leaves the sequencing to you.
That gap — between “I have good songs” and “I have a good playlist” — is what My Flowlist is built for.
Why Apple Music first
I’m an Apple Music user. So are most of the people I asked. The app is great for discovery and library management, but it doesn’t help you shape a playlist around a moment.
My Flowlist was built to do that one thing: take a moment — a 10k run, a Sunday morning, a road trip, a focus sprint — and build a playlist that matches it, energy and duration included. Then drop it straight into your Apple Music library.
What My Flowlist does differently
- Energy, not just genres. It sequences tracks by mood, tempo, and intensity so the playlist feels like one continuous mix.
- Duration-matched. Tell it 30, 60, or 120 minutes and it fills the time without cutting off halfway.
- Built from your library. It uses the music you already own and love.
- One tap. Pick a template, set a duration, and get a playlist in seconds.
The goal
I want My Flowlist to be the fastest way to turn any moment into the right soundtrack. No more scrolling. No more manually reordering. No more skipping half your playlist because the energy is all over the place.
Just press a button, and flow.
